Hogs Bottom Preserves is the fulfilled dream of chef Malcolm Morrison. With years of experience in the catering industry, Malcolm started making the most of the fruit growing at the bottom of his garden creating unique chutneys, jams and flavoured vinegars. The discovery of hedgehogs living under the fruit bushes prompted the name Hogs Bottom.
Starting with sales at local shows and markets demand for Hogs Bottom products grew and soon production had to move into purpose-built premises where new flavours and products were developed making the most of local produce.
Now working out of recently extended production units near Lifton in West Devon, Hogs Bottom Preserves employs six local people. The company continues to produce an ever-increasing range of award winning preserves with accolades from the Taste of The West and the Guild of Fine Foods. Products are available in retail jars and catering tubs, supplying local shops and restaurants in Devon and beyond working with a number of wholesalers.
